IAG Cargo has greenlit the use of SkyCell’s cutting-edge 1500X series temperature-controlled containers across its global network, enhancing its Constant Climate cold chain service for pharmaceutical shipments, according to Singapore’s Payload Asia.
This move unlocks advanced packaging solutions for pharmaceutical customers, ensuring the safe transport of temperature-sensitive products like vaccines and biologics. The SkyCell 1500X series boasts up to 270 hours of independent runtime, extendable with cold room or reefer truck storage.
Jordan Kohlbeck, IAG Cargo’s head of pharmaceuticals, highlighted the rigorous internal collaboration behind this approval. He emphasized the industry’s demand for reliable, sustainable solutions, noting that SkyCell containers meet the highest standards for temperature-controlled logistics.
Designed with sustainability in mind, the containers feature a low volumetric weight, cutting CO2 emissions by up to 50% per shipment. Their reusable and repairable design further minimizes environmental impact.
With major hubs in London, Madrid, Dublin, and Barcelona, IAG Cargo’s operations span six continents, offering unparalleled global reach for pharmaceutical logistics.
