Delhi Airport Achieves 11% YoY Cargo Growth, Surpasses 1 Million Tons for Second Year

Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport has once again proven its position as a key player in India’s air cargo network. For the second consecutive year, the GMR Group-led Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) has crossed the 1 million ton cargo milestone, handling an impressive 1.109 million tons in the financial year 2025 (FY25). This marks an 11% year-over-year (YoY) growth.

Breaking down the numbers, the total includes 0.73 million tons of international cargo and 0.38 million tons of domestic cargo. The airport’s world-class infrastructure and ability to manage a diverse range of shipments—from perishables to high-value goods—have been instrumental in achieving this milestone. “Delhi Airport continues to strengthen India’s air cargo network,” the airport shared in a LinkedIn post celebrating the achievement.

For context, in FY24, the airport handled 1.003 million tons of cargo, comprising 0.65 million tons of international and 0.36 million tons of domestic shipments. The consistent growth underscores Delhi Airport’s pivotal role in driving India’s air freight capabilities and connecting the country to global trade networks.

This achievement isn’t just a number—it’s a testament to the airport’s commitment to operational excellence and its vision to elevate India’s position in the global logistics landscape.
